I carry 30 years of experience in English language communication. I’ve been working with learners for 20 years, currently focusing primarily on 1:1 coaching and group training in corporate settings. You’ll always get a personalized training from me using my methodology and content tailored to your needs. I have already helped hundreds of learners gain self-confidence and English proficiency —many of whom are in leadership positions.

I am the author of five books and a co-host of the “Three English Experts” podcast.

I bring professional experience from renowned companies—Deutsche Bank in Düsseldorf, McKinsey in Cologne, the World Bank in London, AlphaPress in Budapest, and Mannesmann—as well as references from my freelance work.

I have a solid background as a journalist for German and English newspapers in the following industries: insurance, shipping, and energy / Herbert Fromme (Cologne), FTD, Lloyd’s List, Insurance Day / education and energy: Hans-Willy Bein, Talenttage Ruhr, Die Grundschule, Der Schulmanager.

I completed my studies in English and Political Science at Ruhr University Bochum in 1999.

I received my C2 “Proficiency” certificate from the University of Cambridge in England in 1994.

I lived abroad for six years—two of them in England, three months in Budapest, and four years in Vienna.

I have been working as a freelancer since 2005, including in the fields of communications and translation until the early 2020s—for SMS Düsseldorf, Cancom, and the EUV Essen Entrepreneurs’ Association—and as a coach and trainer since the 2020s.

My practical, proven approach focuses on providing the most useful learning experiences for my clients. I’m results-oriented and always take the fastest route to the goal. I’ve taken a few shortcuts in my life.

I am passionate about English

Ever since my two-year stay in England, the language has never left me, and it has become an indispensable part of my professional life. English has always been a key skill in my career. I’ve been enthusiastic about the language from the very beginning (pictured below is me in Great Britain in 1994).

I am passionate about language in general = good communication skills + foreign languages in particular

I also speak Spanish and am currently learning Dutch.
